The module comes in a hot‑pluggable QSFP28 package with an MPO‑12 connector, drawing power from a standard 3.3V supply while keeping total consumption under 3.5W. It operates within a 0°C to 70°C case temperature range, making it well suited for typical data center environments.

Designed for short-to‑medium reach single‑mode fiber links, the module is a cost‑effective alternative to WDM‑based solutions like CWDM4 or LR4, which require additional multiplexing components. It also supports breakout applications: with an appropriate breakout cable, a single 100G port can be split into four independent 25G links, offering flexible migration paths and more efficient utilization of switch ports.
